Around the city centre

Just outside the city centre you will find some peripheral car parks where you can park for free. Some are within walking distance of the city centre, some are frequently accessed by public transport. Consult these peripheral car parks here.

A ‘Blue Zone’ has been introduced around the city centre. In the designated zone, you can park for free between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a limited amount of time (max. 4 hours). Always place your parking disc, even on Sundays and public holidays. Click here for information about the Blue Zone.

In the city centre

Consult here the overview of all city centre car parks in the city centre and their rates. These car parks are open 7/7 and 24/24.

Tip: The cheapest and unlimited paid parking is in one of the two city centre car parks: Centrum Station (15 min walk to the Market) and Centrum Zand (10 min walk to the Market). From the station, there is frequent public transport to the city centre. The bus transfer from the Centrum Station car park to the city centre is included in the parking ticket. Bus tickets can be collected in advance and upon presentation of the parking ticket from De Lijnwinkel on the station square (max. 4 people per car) or from the driver if De Lijnwinkel is closed.

Above-ground parking in the city centre is time-limited (max. 4 hours) and paying (€2.50 for the first hour, €6 for two hours, €10.50 for three hours and €16 for four hours) between 9 am and 8 pm. You can pay by SMS (Belgian numbers only), with the 4411 app, by bank card or in cash. You always have to enter your correct number plate.
